Pole Dancing…The Perfect Strength Training Exercise
If there is just one thing that swinging your body around using solely your upper body, it’s an increase in strength. Pole dancing can be quite a bit more than twirling and flipping your hair around, as evidenced by the bruises and aching muscles dancers experience. Believe it or not, this can be classified as strength training. There are many benefits derived from strength training, but a few of them are things every woman is concerned about.
The first is aging gracefully. The desire to stay feeling and looking young is what drives the market for anti-wrinkle creams and even plastic surgery. You don’t need to go to such drastic measures, though, if you take care of your body carefully when you are younger. Building your muscle strength will keep you energetic enough to keep up with all stages of life. If your body is strong, your energy will be able to sustain activity and help you to feel vibrant even as your birthdays increase. The more active you are as you get older, the more your body will withstand the years and your life can actually be extended.
In this same strain is the concern about osteoperosis. About 80% of women deal with bone density issues as they age. Part of the osteoperosis prevention is calcium intake; the other part can be obtained by strength training. Consistently working to keep your body strong will also effect the strength of your bones. Inactivity leads to bone breakdown, while activity leads to bone strengthening and even repair. Developing and maintaining strength now will lead to stronger bones when you are older.
Finally, strength training helps you reach a seemingly impossible goal: feeling and looking great! After you’ve accomplished a task you’ve been attempting for awhile, you feel energized and encouraged to continue trying. There is nothing like a feeling of accomplishment. More than that, when your muscles start to become toned and eventually defined, your body starts to take the shape you’ve always wanted. A healthy body does wonders for not only your physical health, but your mental health and self-esteem as well.
I’ve started with a company EPM EmpowerNET that specializes in in-home Pole Dancing parties! The parties are so much fun!! It’s crazy to think I get paid to do them!
I absolutely love having my own pole! I’ve lost 11 lbs since I’ve started pole dancing! I can’t say enough about it!
